Meet Leslie Catlett, MS, OTR/L

Founded by an Occupational Therapist

The Penmanship Lab, LLC is owned and operated by Leslie Catlett MS, OTR/L. She is an academically trained and clinically experienced therapist. She is skilled in identifying and remediating deficits in child handwriting. Leslie has been featured on Good Day Columbus, in ShoutoutDFW, and Voyage Dallas. She was recognized as DFWChild magazine Mom Approved in 2021 and 2024. Leslie also created ClineEdWeb's first Pediatric Telehealth Case for Occupational Therapy educators and students. In the fall of 2023, she earned a coveted spot in the year-long Mavs Business Assist Program, an achievement that set her apart from over 500 applicants.

The mission of the Penmanship Lab:

  1. Provide high quality instruction/coaching and tools to improve legibility.

  2. Design and implement a curriculum based upon individual need/concerns.

  3. Maintain a nurturing and fun format via a virtual classroom.

Leslie holds a B.S. in Chemistry/Minor in Agriculture from Murray State University and a M.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

She currently specializes in virtual school-based services, offering both direct and consultative support to students. Her role involves conducting evaluations, participating in team meetings, and delivering interventions to students in grades K-12, both nationally and internationally. With a diverse background spanning acute-care pediatrics, inpatient and outpatient pediatrics, and online public schools. Leslie brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her practice, including working with students under Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans to ensure their academic success and well-being.

Leslie possesses extensive expertise in supporting students with diverse learning needs, including dyslexia, ADHD, dysgraphia, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). With a nuanced understanding of the challenges these students face, Leslie provides personalized interventions and accommodations to foster their academic and social growth. She is committed to creating inclusive learning environments that empower every student to excel and achieve their goals.
